An agreement concerning the delivery of post service for the Civil Registry Agency was signed in the Rustavi Public Service Hall. The document was signed by Head of the Civil Registry Agency Mr. Giorgi Gabrielashvili and by Deputy General Director of LTD "Georgian Post" Mr. Besarion Gelenidze.
According to Mr. Giorgi Gabrielashvili, the Civil Registry Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is offering a new service to citizens: persons willing to receive ID card or passport can apply for the document in the Public Service Halls or Territorial offices of the Agency, and receive the finished document by post on indicated address. To receive the above-mentioned service applicants will have to pay additionally 2 GEL together with the document fee.
It is noteworthy that the finished document is delivered only to an applicant. As it is already known, citizens can receive ID cards and passports on the tenth, fifth, third, and second day after submitting the application and even on the same workday. While applying, citizens must indicate any three-hour period till 18:00, for example from 13:00 till 16:00.
Documents can be delivered to any address over Georgia, including addresses in villages as well.
Taking into consideration interests of citizens, it is also possible to apply for a document in Tbilisi to the Saburtalo Territorial Office of the Civil Registry Agency indicating the delivery address in Rustavi.
A representative of the post office will visit the indicated delivery address in the time-period specified by the applicant; therefore, a citizen has to be on place in this time-period. The applicant will be also informed that if the document will not be delivered by the first visit, a post employee will come again next day during the same time-period as indicated. If it will be impossible to deliver the document at another attempt neither it will be returned to the issuing office.
Since it will be possible to deliver a document on any address by post, sending the document requires a defined time. Consequently, it is possible to deliver documents by post in Tbilisi both within one-day period and with the shortest possible delay.
For information, it will be possible as well to deliver other documents by post in the future.
