A Meeting of the Scientific Advisory Council Held in the Ministry of Justice

A session of the scientific-advisory council was held today in the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, where the draft of the new Penal Code and the amendments to the accompanying laws were discussed. The session was chaired by Deputy Minister of Justice, Tornike Cheishvili.

The meeting participants analyzed in detail the opinions and recommendations of the members of the Council regarding the prepared draft laws. In addition, the representatives of the Ministry of Justice provided the members of the Council with information about the initiation of the package of amendments and the terms for further discussions.

The members of the Scientific-advisory Council of the Justice Ministry are law school professors of higher educational institutions and prominent experts in various fields of law.

One of the priorities of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is to conduct law-making activities based on science and in-depth analytics.
