Minister of Justice of Georgia Meets European Colleagues within the Framework of the Luxembourg Global Forum

Minister of Justice of Georgia, Rati Bregadze is participating in the ongoing global forum in Luxembourg. The forum is organized by the joint initiative of the OECD and the Government of Luxembourg and is dedicated to the discussion of such topics as: the modern geopolitical environment, the importance of strengthening democracy and citizens' trust in state institutions, climate change, the global crisis due to Covid-19, digital transformation and citizens' social and economic rights.

Within the framework of the visit, the Minister of Justice met with the Minister of Digitization of the Netherlands. Rati Bregadze, speaking with Alexandra Van Huffelen, noted that the development of public services and strengthening of digital governance is a priority of the Georgian government. The Minister of Justice expressed his readiness, on the one hand, to share the successful Georgian model with his partners, and on the other hand, to introduce the best European practices in Georgia.

Deputy Minister of Justice, Beka Dzamashvili also attended the meeting.

Before the end of the global forum, Rati Bregadze will hold meetings with other colleagues on issues of digitization of state services.

Minister of Justice of Georgia and the State Secretary of Norway Discuss Areas of Sectoral Cooperation

The Minister of Justice of Georgia spoke today to the State Secretary of Digitalisation and Electronic Communications of Norway about the implemented and planned reforms in the field of digital governance in Georgia. According to Rati Bregadze, the strategic goal of the Ministry of Justice is to provide accessible and safe services both in large cities and in villages and towns. For this purpose, the public service halls are successfully functioning in the country, and for the population living far from the district centers, the innovative project - the Mobile Public Service Hall provides services.

Rati Bregadze emphasized that care for service improvement continues even today. Work on another innovative project will be completed soon. JUSTapp is a mobile application that will allow Georgian citizens to receive the services of the Public Service Hall online without leaving home.

The Minister of Justice of Georgia and the State Secretary of Digitalisation and Electronic Communications of Norway agreed on cooperation in the direction of digital governance. In order to deepen mutual cooperation, Rati Bregadze proposed to the State Secretary of Norway to sign a memorandum between the two agencies.

Rati Bregadze met Gunn Karin Gjul within the framework of the current global forum in Luxembourg. Deputy Minister of Justice, Beka Dzamashvili also attended the meeting.

During the visit to Luxembourg, Rati Bregadze and the State Secretary of Portugal Discuss Prospects of Deepening Mutual Cooperation

Rati Bregadze held a meeting today with Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization of Portugal, Mario Campolargo.

The issue of digitalization of state services was discussed at the meeting. Rati Bregadze noted that modernizing the delivery of state services and the justice system through modern technologies and innovations is one of the priorities of Georgia; Sectoral cooperation and experience sharing with partner countries will contribute to the development of e-government in both countries.

The Minister also spoke about the launch of the mobile application JustApp, through which all state services will be available online. At the meeting, the parties also discussed the signing of a mutual cooperation document.

Rati Bregadze thanked the Portuguese side for their steadfast support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Minister expressed hope that Georgia will have the political support of Portugal at all stages of joining the European Union.

The meeting was held within the framework of the current global forum in Luxembourg. Deputy Minister of Justice, Beka Dzamashvili also attended the meeting.
