The Interagency Task Force for Fair and Free Elections (IATF) held its first session today after the second round of self-government elections
The members of the IATF discussed the facts of alleged violations of the election legislation, which were covered by various media outlets during the pre-election period and on the polling day. Information on responding to possible incidents was provided to the session participants by the representatives of the competent agencies.
The purpose of the Interagency Task Force for Free and Fair Elections is to prevent and respond to violations of election legislation by public servants. From September 8, the IATF meets once a week to discuss possible incidents during the pre-election process. The commission will continue to work intensively until the end of the second round and the publication of the final election results.
The 13th session of the Interagency Task Force was held online. It was headed by Deputy Minister of Justice, Tornike Cheishvili.
