Tbilisi is hosting the UN Forum on Public Services, bringing together world leaders and international experts to discuss citizen-centered, innovative approaches to public service delivery.

The forum, titled “Transforming Public Institutions: Promoting Innovation, Accountability, Engagement and Inclusivity,” was opened by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, and the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua.

Holding this high-level event in Tbilisi reflects international recognition of Georgia’s ongoing reforms aimed at developing accessible and efficient public services.

Paata Salia highlighted the growing expectations placed on public services in the context of rapid technological progress and the advancement of artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation and sharing best practices to ensure the successful implementation of new initiatives and solutions.

UN Under-Secretary-General Li Junhua presented a certificate to the Minister of Justice of Georgia in recognition of his contribution to the development of public services and the organization of the forum.

The forum will run for three days, featuring a series of thematic sessions. Participants will discuss digital transformation, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, data protection, inclusive governance, anti-corruption efforts, strengthening citizen engagement, and improving access to public services. The event will conclude with an award ceremony recognizing the best innovative projects aimed at enhancing service delivery.

As part of the forum, the Minister of Justice of Georgia will also hold bilateral meetings with UN Under-Secretary-General Li Junhua, as well as with heads of foreign delegations.

The Minister of Justice of Georgia discussed cooperation issues with the Director General of the Council of Europe for Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

The meeting between Paata Salia and Gianluca Esposito emphasized the effective cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe in the field of human rights, the rule of law and democracy.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Justice Beka Dzamashvili and Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe Khatia Tsilosani.

Paata Salia is participating in the Council of Europe Ministerial in Strasbourg. The Minister of Justice of Georgia made a speech at the event and shared Georgia's experience in combating and preventing financial crime with colleagues.
