Rati Bregadze Introduces Planned Reforms in Service Delivery to Azerbaijani Minister of Justice

​The Minister of Justice of Georgia introduced the ten-year development strategy of the Ministry to his Azerbaijani counterpart. The meeting between Rati Bregadze and Fikrat Mammadov was held in Venice within the framework of a ministerial organized by the Council of Europe.

The Minister of Justice of Georgia informed Fikrat Mammadov about the innovative reforms planned to increase the availability of services. Particular attention was paid to access to public services, including the innovative mobile Public Service Hall project, as well as the reform of probation and penitentiary systems.

It was decided at the meeting that a memorandum of cooperation will be concluded between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries. Fikrat Mammadov invited Rati Bregadze to Azerbaijan.

The Ministerial "Crime and Criminal Justice - the Role of Restorative Justice in Europe" is attended by President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Rick Demes, President of the Venice Commission, Gianni Buquicchio, Minister of Justice of Italy, Marta Cartabia, and justice ministers of other European countries. Rati Bregadze addressed the participants of the Ministerial and introduced them to the Georgian achievements in restorative justice and the vision for its future development.

Within the framework of the two-day ministerial, the Minister of Justice of Georgia held meetings with the Ministers of Justice of Italy, Hungary and Armenia.

UN Forum on Public Services Opens in Tbilisi

Tbilisi is hosting the UN Forum on Public Services, bringing together world leaders and international experts to discuss citizen-centered, innovative approaches to public service delivery.

The forum, titled “Transforming Public Institutions: Promoting Innovation, Accountability, Engagement and Inclusivity,” was opened by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, and the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Li Junhua.

Holding this high-level event in Tbilisi reflects international recognition of Georgia’s ongoing reforms aimed at developing accessible and efficient public services.

Paata Salia highlighted the growing expectations placed on public services in the context of rapid technological progress and the advancement of artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation and sharing best practices to ensure the successful implementation of new initiatives and solutions.

UN Under-Secretary-General Li Junhua presented a certificate to the Minister of Justice of Georgia in recognition of his contribution to the development of public services and the organization of the forum.

The forum will run for three days, featuring a series of thematic sessions. Participants will discuss digital transformation, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, data protection, inclusive governance, anti-corruption efforts, strengthening citizen engagement, and improving access to public services. The event will conclude with an award ceremony recognizing the best innovative projects aimed at enhancing service delivery.

As part of the forum, the Minister of Justice of Georgia will also hold bilateral meetings with UN Under-Secretary-General Li Junhua, as well as with heads of foreign delegations.
