Minister of Justice Discusses Successful Cooperation with UNHCR Representative
The Minister of Justice met with the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to discuss the ongoing successful cooperation between the Ministry and the UN agency.
During the meeting, Minister Paata Salia and Anna Rich highlighted the close partnership between the Ministry of Justice and UNHCR, particularly in facilitating access to a wide range of services for stateless persons.
The parties also discussed the importance of sharing Georgia’s successful experience in reducing statelessness with partner countries. Special attention was given to the role of the State Services Development Agency in organizing specialized training programs for representatives of various government institutions.
The meeting further emphasized that the successful reforms implemented by Georgia and their international recognition are reflected in the hosting of the United Nations Public Service Forum, which will take place in Tbilisi on 23–25 June and is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice and the United Nations.
The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Justice Beka Dzamashvili and Ketevan Sarajishvili, Head of the Department of International Relations and Legal Cooperation.
