Minister of Justice of Georgia Paata Salia held a meeting with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Gareth Ward, to discuss prospects for future cooperation in the field of justice.

The introductory meeting focused on the Ministry of Justice’s priority areas, including human rights protection mechanisms, state service delivery policy, reforms of the penitentiary and probation systems, as well as the integration of digital governance and innovative solutions into the Ministry’s activities.

The Minister thanked the British Ambassador for the visit and expressed his readiness to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of justice.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Beka Dzamashvili and the Political and External Relations Secretary at the British Embassy, Jess Duckworth.

Deputy Ministers of Justice discussed prospects for deepening cooperation with Japanese parliamentary delegation.

Lana Morgoshia and Giorgi Dgebuadze presented the priorities and key areas of activity of the Ministry of Justice to the Head of the Japan–Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Karen Makishima, and other members of the delegation.

Given the delegation’s interest, particular attention was paid to the reforms implemented to enhance the accessibility of public services and to introduce digital governance.

The Georgian side expressed its readiness to share experience in the field of technological innovation and voiced hope that there are further opportunities to deepen cooperation between the two countries in this area.

The meeting was also attended by Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice, Mariam Bregadze; Chair of the State Services Development Agency Rusudan Kokhodze; Head of the National Agency of Public Registry, Davit Devidze; Chair of the Public Service Hall, Vakhtang Zhvania; and Chair of the Digital Governance Agency, Davit Nadirashvili.

As part of its visit to Georgia, the Japanese delegation will visit the central branch of the Public Service Hall in Tbilisi today to become acquainted with the service delivery concept and the procedures for providing public and private services.
