"Digital University" Will Be Launched for Convicts
During the Minister's hour speech in the Parliament of Georgia, the Minister of Justice spoke about the reforms implemented to increase the access to higher education in penitentiary institutions and to raise the quality of education.
According to the Minister, the project "Digital University" is being launched to increase the access and quality of higher education in penitentiary institutions.
In cooperation with universities, the project will enable convicts to receive a full-fledged higher education through remote learning and master the profession they want. "The purpose of the sentence is to restore justice, prevent a new crime and re-socialize the perpetrators. This is largely achieved by the convict with proper skills and knowledge," said Rati Bregadze.
