Representatives of the Ministry of Justice Participate in Negotiations on the Agreement on Promotion and Protection of Investments between Georgia and Canada
The Ministry of Justice is directly involved in the investment agreement between Georgia and Canada, in particular the development of international standards for encouragement and protection of investors and the introduction of effective investment disposition resolution mechanisms. There have already been five rounds of negotiations between the parties.
In the process, led by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Head of the Department of Expertise and Judicial Representation of the Ministry of Justice, Nino Mindiashvili, and Head of State Representation Department in the Arbitrations and International Courts, Mariam Antia also participate.
The signing of the agreement will promote the influx of qualitative investment in Georgia, ensuring the transfer of knowledge and technology; It will also encourage Canadian investors to become interested in the Georgian economy or increase their existing investments.
The next 6th round is planned in the second half of this year.
