James Appathurai Holds a Meeting on Cybersecurity Issues at the Digital Governance Agency
The Deputy Assistant Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, James Appathurai, held a meeting today at the LEPL Digital Governance Agency to discuss cyber security issues.
The purpose of the visit of the NATO delegation to the Digital Governance Agency was to deepen the cooperation between the North Atlantic Alliance and Georgia on issues related to the relevant perspectives and to identify Georgia's basic needs in the field of cyber security. The parties discussed the direction of cyber and hybrid policies and security challenges.
Chair of the Digital Governance Agency, Davit Nadirashvili briefed the guests on the Agency's mandate in the field of cyber security, its basic needs and the legislative and strategic framework of Georgia.
According to the Chair of the Agency, given the current situation in the world, cyber-attacks pose a great threat to the global economy, which may face Georgia. "We fully share the position of our strategic partners that at such times we must be vigilant against this threat and strengthen cyber security against the technologies that people use every day," - said David Nadirashvili.
