The 125th branch of the Public Service Hall was officially opened in Sagarejo by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, alongside the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, and the Chairperson of the Public Service Hall, Vakhtang Zhvania.

The new branch, distinguished by its unique architecture and modern interior design, offers citizens access to up to 500 public services. The facility is fully adapted to meet the needs of persons with disabilities.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the legislative body, Deputy Ministers of Justice, heads of legal entities under public law (LEPLs), the State Representative in the Kakheti Region, local government officials, and other invited guests.

Minister of Justice of Georgia, Paata Salia, together with the newly appointed Head of the Special Penitentiary Service, Bezhan Obgaidze, held a meeting with the employees of the Special Penitentiary Service.

The meeting was attended by department heads and directors of various penitentiary institutions. Discussions focused on the agency’s ongoing projects, future development plans, and current challenges facing the penitentiary system.

As part of the visit, Minister Salia also toured the Service’s infrastructure and personally reviewed the working conditions of employees on site.

Deputy Minister of Justice, Giorgi Dgebuadze, held an introductory meeting with the Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Georgia and representatives of the Swiss Development Agency (SDC). The discussion underscored the importance of interagency coordination, facilitated by the Governmental Commission on Migration Issues, which operates under the leadership of the Ministry of Justice.

The participants reviewed the key areas of IOM’s work in Georgia, including initiatives supported by the SDC and other dimensions of sectoral collaboration. Special attention was given to the role of international partners in strengthening Georgia’s national migration management system, as well as the value of joint efforts in migration-related education and capacity building.

The meeting was also attended by Rusudan Kokhodze, Chairperson of the State Services Development Agency, along with representatives of the Secretariat of the Governmental Commission on Migration Issues.
